FACTS was awarded a grant from the NoVo Foundation for its social and emotional learning (SEL) project “Many Ways of Knowing: Mindfulness Practices from our Own and Other Cultures.” FACTS is honored to receive this grant, as only 40 were awarded out of 800 applicants.
This grant will allow FACTS to continue to build upon our SEL teaching practices. It is also funding a weekly Qigong Movement Class for all of our students this year. The class focuses on movement-based and breath-based practice used to promote health and well-being. The exercises they learn from resident artist Henry Jun Wah Lee are designed to be powerful, simple to learn, and easy to practice. The intention is that students and staff will be able to come away from this class with practices they can draw upon in their daily lives.
