We are excited to return to an in-person event for the 2022 FACTS 5K!

FACTS believes in promoting the cultural, physical and social health of our students and our surrounding community.

FACTS 5K is our biggest annual fundraising event. Funds raised by the 5K support special activities, programs, and equipment that make FACTS unique. For example:
- Purchase new Lion heads that will help mark important celebrations such as Lunar New Year and Promotion Day.
- Purchase additional chrome books and new scientific calculators so every student has access to the technology they need
- Bring African American storytellers to share their stories and cultural traditions with our students
- Expand our library of books that celebrate, affirm, and teach histories and experiences of people of color, immigrants/refugees, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities and other groups that are too often underrepresented
Every participant who registers by October 1st will receive a FACTS 5K t-shirt.
Medals and prizes will be awarded to the top two overall finishers.
Medals will be awarded to the top two finishers in the following five age groups: 10 and under, 11-17, 18-34, 35-45, 46+
Not a runner? Join us as a walker. Participants will have the option of completing only 1 loop (about 1.5 miles).

Late Registration (October 1st – 10th): Adults and Students $30
On-Line Registration will be closed between October 11th and 14th. In-person Race Day Registration will be open from 7am-8am. All participants $35 each
Why create a team?
Building a fundraising team is the most fun and effective way of increasing the impact of your participation in the 5K. There are team prizes!

Q: When and where can I pick up my race bib and FACTS 5K t-shirt?
A: There will be packet pick up in advance at the Folk Arts Cultural Treasures Charter School at 1023 Callowhill Street. Packets may be picked up in person at FACT Charter School. Check back for exact times and dates. FACTS student and family packets will be distributed and sent home with students the week before the race.
Q: Where do I walk/run/exercise?
A: Join us at FDR park on Saturday, October 15th. The race will begin promptly at 8:30am. If you can’t make it to the race, you’re welcome to participate virtually anytime that week. Only those participating in-person on race day will be eligible for medals.
Q: Do I have to attend the race to register and/or donate?
A: No. We would love to have as many people as possible show up for our in-person event but it is not required in order to support FACTS. If you can’t make it to the race, you’re welcome to participate virtually anytime that week.
Q: Are paper registration forms available?
A: Yes. Paper registration forms will be made available for FACTS families and students in early September, however, we strongly encourage on-line registration. On-line registration is required for those creating teams.
Q: Can I bring my pet?
A: No. I’m sorry, but for the safety of all participants we can’t allow any dogs or other pets on the race course.
Q: Do I have to run the whole 5K? Is there a shorter course?
A: You do not have to run the entire 5K. Our race is a loop course. In order to be eligible for medals you must go around the course 2 times and complete a 5K (3.1 miles). If you’re looking for a shorter option, you are welcome to run and/or walk around just once. If you choose this option just don’t cross the timed race finish line. Bypass it and go right to the finish area where refreshments are served.
